Our products have undergone freeze / thaw / heat / water /testing for 100 cycles at minus 50 degrees to plus 50 degrees with no sign of damage or fading of colours whatsoever.

Test Methods

Abrasion Resistence

The test was carried out in accordance with BS6717: 2001: Precast. unreinforced concrete paving blocks. Requirements and test methods, Annex F (normative Method for measuring abrasion resistence. Each sample was tested on a single face only, with the abrasion carried out in two directions at 90 degrees to each other.

Skid Resistence & Polished Pendulum Values

The test was carried out in accordance with BS6717: 2001: Annex G (Normative) Method for determining the slip/skid resistence value. Each sample was tested in both directions longitudinally on the same wearing surface.

Resistence to Freeze/Thaw

The test was carried out to a method based on the standard specification for a cyclic freezing test, reference BCRL BM2: 1993. This test was developed by CERAM, and is now going forward for inclusion as the single frost test method in prEN1344: 1996.
